36. OK - let's go a step futrther - Poco trivia-wise

One of the early 70's members of Poco joined the band from a rather obscure band - actually, the band was really two main members and a revolving cast. They had two LP's out - on a major label. The other member of the "duo'' went on to form a wonderfully obscure band that was pretty well known (to the "heads") in New England, and played on the same bill with NRBQ at times. He later went on to be a fairly successful session musician - I think.

Who were these two folks? What was the original band they were in? What was the name of the wonderully obscure band?

In order to get it, you would have had to have been listening to free-form FM radio back in the late 60's/early 70's, or have a real good working knowledge of some of the lesser-heard bands of that era.

But this particular band (and band member) put out two LP's on a VERY major label.
