They are supposed to be visible down to Northern TX.

I'm in NE Nebraska, nothing yet.

1. No, as usual here in NY, when something in the sky happens
the skies are overcast from stem to stern.

2. I'm in San Diego and I can barely see the streetlight.
Lotta smoke still.

I've never seen the aurora borealis before. probably due to always living in a large urban area. Too many lights.

It must be a pretty cool sight.

3. This site will show you current position of Aurora

Looks like New York and N. WI & MN right now. NE will probably have to wait a few more hours for the peak viewing time.

4. Hello fellow Cornhusker
I am down in Sarpy County....was hoping to see North Lights, but city lights of Omaha will probably obscure it. Glad to see that not everyone in the "Big Red" state is a true blue Republican.

Great weather for curling up with a book, turning on the soft light and white noise machine, and relaxing.............. of course, if you're "taken" (not single) I can think of better things to do! :D

16. I'm on the south side of the mountain.
I'll never see anything to the north or northwest, unless I get in my car. I try to avoid driving in these wilds at night. I am so far back in the sticks it is unbelieveable. Really, really isolated.

However, my 20-meter dipole (cut for 14.28) and 100 watts connected 20-over with the west coast this morning on the International Association of Airline Hams Net (14.28 mhz: Wed, Thurs, and Sun mornings from 15Z to 18Z). Great company, those guys. Join us if you are a ham with any interest at all in aviation.

The solar flux helped and hurt the net this morning. I talked with California and Arizona like they were down the street. However, I could not hear anyone else anywhere in the country. Period. Weird!

18. Yes, but better up in the northern part of the state
In South Central Minnesota, they can be seen, but up nearer the Canadian border we have been awakened in the middle of the night by the brightness!
Totally awesome sight.
