2. Are we talking blister or something from ill-fitting/preforming boots
or is just what I like to call "the happy ache" from muscle exertion. The kind that just tells you "these things are gettin better from that effort.

I hurt my shoulder from a badly timed eskimo roll, but otheriwse I have "the happy ache" from a kick ass paddle yesterday. All in all, I am very pleased. Cheers!

6. Happy Ache
And I was hiking with water/hiking shoes because it's an extremely mudding hike. But I just soaked my feet for 30 minutes and they're feeling yummy now!

8. Awesome,
actually, either way it's good. Bad boots can be replaced, and the happy ache is its own reward. As long as you get out there! :)

4. Owww. Most I ever did was 4/5. Can't remember, blocked it out, LOL.
I can't imagine how your feet must be humming after 8.

5. Where did you hike?
Sounds awesome, eight miles is a long way. Between five and eight is a good hike. Any more becomes a death march, any less is a "walk"

7. It was all flat - Lums State Park in Delaware
I wouldn't do 8 miles if it was hilly
