Okay, telemarketers on Sunday are bad enough...
But this guy (from India, sorry) who's asking for a name that doesn't quite sound like mine followed by "How much are you paying for your internet per month?" I say "$50", he responds "$30"?

I thought telemarketers weren't allowed to call on Sunday and if American companies can't hire Americans to peddle their rubbish then forget them. Forget them either way, this telemarketing shit is way out of control. Like spam, it cannot be stopped. I don't even sign up for anything and I even get calls from auto-dialing machines no less.

Fucking corporate filth.

3. Okay, how do you file a complaint?
The telemarketers know that because so few people will take a time to call in a complaint against them, they basically operate with impunity.

We are on the no call list, and we get so many telemarketing calls we've unplugged the landline (all we use it for is DSL) and use cell phones for all our incoming stuff. Outgoing calls, we'll plug the phone in, but if you want to call me you have to call my cell. And IT'S getting telemarketing calls! That's completely illegal, but as with any other criminal, once they started calling Do Not Call List members, they figured the whole telemarketing act didn't apply to them. Fortunately, the few non-telemarketers who might want to call me show up with their regular names on the cell phone display. When "Out of Area" or "Number Blocked" appear on the screen, I don't answer.

2. I don't mind the surveys
But I hate the other telemarketing calls. I try to be polite to the person on the other end because I know they are just trying to do a job, but I never buy anything from them. And I don't give out my address to them. Save a tree, avoid junk mail.

4. Don't you have Caller ID?
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, gets a call answered at our house unless we know who they are. And if we don't know them, and they don't leave a message, we know they're someone we didn't want to talk to anyway.

Also, do you have ACR (Anonymous Call Rejection) as an option? We have it, and if anyone calls us with their Caller ID blocked, they don't even get through. They just get a recording telling them to go away.
