I met up with some friends for food, drink and great conversation. Among other stuff. :-)

1. Glad you did.
Mine was pretty good, too. Relaxing. My bf & I did some date-type-things for the first time in a long time. Dinner, movie, driving range, bike riding. It was nice. :) I needed it cause he's leaving for 17 days on Thursday. :(

2. Jolly good time here too
On Saturday I went up to Stratford to see 'Midsummer Night's Dream', quite idyllic getting a pre-theatre supper sitting looking over the river, then a magnificent performance.

Glad you had a fabulous time too.

3. Makes for a better Monday, doesn't it?
We mostly vegged (we needed to), and found a cheap and absolutely fantastic Chinese food restaurant 3 blocks from the house on Saturday night. :)

4. I did, too.
Unfortunately, I had a conflict with an invitation to meet up with friends for food, drink, and conversation, but I did go to RadFest, which is an activist conference in Williams Bay, WI (beautiful lakefront grounds, BTW).

I discovered I probably wasn't a radical, and that I'm sick of Lakoff, but I can speak about reproductive rights as well as anyone there.

I got to experience the joys of traveling with a 2.75-year-old child. She was really pretty good -- slept through the night in the strange place, even through a thunderstorm -- but people kept assuming I was her mother, and she diligently corrected them: "No, this isn't my Mama. I'm here with my Papa and Stacie." At least liberal activists aren't going to be too judgemental/prying over that.

Glad your weekend went so well too, Terry. :hi:

6. I took my girls to an amusement park and I even rode the
roller coaster and the log flume even though I am afraid of heights (I refuse to pass my neuroses onto my children). I think I deserve a cookie :D

9. You are such a meanypants poopyhead.
You'll be soooo pleased to know I almost peed on the "sky princess" - the ski lift thingy that takes you from one end of the park to the other at a snail's pace. Is there anything scarier?

11. Woh I worked my tail off
till the wee hours on both Friday and Saturday nights.

Ran into my new pseudo beau on Friday evening before my gig and he got me all stirred up.

Couldn't get to sleep immediately on Saturday after arriving home at 5:30 am. Got 1 &1/2 hours of slumber and then someone decided that it would be a good idea to mow the lawn. Vrrooooom. Arghhhhhhhh.

So I was a zombie trying to sleep all day Saturday. i typically don't have any problem sleeping but generally don't try to do so during the day. Think I was probably trying too hard. Alas to no avail.

Had to drive a very long way on Saturday night for my gig. Typically I'm usually driving alone but a dear and trusted friend and another lady came along and saved my butt by doing most of the driving. It was great. Tried to sleep in the car but the conversation was far too interesting so I kept lying down in the back seat only to leap up and interject something.

Had a great gig then after the long drive home foolishly watched the vacuous Sunday morning news shows. Then got a couple hours of sleep and was awoken by unexpected phone call and invite by pseudo beau.

Went to his house and had a really wild time. We had a cookout and some really ridiculous conversations. Still processing the whole thing.

Are you sorry you asked? :hi:

12. Had a great time... CaliforniaPeggy and I went to see an amazing play
about the run up to war "Stuff Happens" starring Keith Carradine as Bush and many, many other fantastic actors (we also saw Danny Devito and Rhea Perlman take their seats two rows from us as the lights were going down)... before it, Will Pitt gave a talk that was absolutely wonderful... and we made someone take this pic of us:

13. My weekend was lousy.
First, I had electrical problems, which knocked out my power. Had an electrician at the house all day Saturday trying to figure out the problem. It is fixed temporarily. Then my engine service light came on in my car. Car is in the shop now and I have my fingers crossed that it is not a major repair.

Beer, seafood and good conversation. Then my friend's cute 23 year old partner showed up on the veranda wearing nothing but a cape and the party got WAAAYYYY more interesting!

I'd tell you more, but it'd probably get the thread deleted....Just use your imagination....

25. Battle of Midway celebration
my son and he NJROTC unit sent a color guard to the Naval War College in Newport, RI to this event. It was really a very lovely day: remembering the fallen, celebrating the victory, re-enactment of letters sent home by soldiers and sent from home by loved-ones waiting.... dinner under the stars.

Very lovely day
