Best-selling author William Rivers Pitt left no doubt who his targets were when he spoke to a ready and friendly audience in Santa Rosa on Sunday: President Bush and corporate media.
Pitt, the author of "War on Iraq: What Team Bush Doesn't Want You to Know" and "The Greatest Sedition Is Silence," was the guest speaker at a public forum at Santa Rosa's Unitarian Fellowship on Mendocino Avenue.
He told an audience of more than 100 people that the time was ripe for a bipartisan push to get the country out of Iraq, given the growing rifts in the Republican Party over issues such as overhauling Social Security, stem cell research and the nomination of John Bolton as ambassador of the United Nations.
"It is time, it is past time to mount a bull-throated charge to get American troops out of Iraq," Pitt said.
