I Have A DVD of Blue-Jay Playing With My Band

Some of you may remember that a couple of months ago, we were involved in a benefit for a the family of a young British guitar player we knew, who'd been killed in a car wreck in Greece.

Blue-Jay, from right here at the DU Lounge showed up with a couple of horns that day and he played.

Well, the video company finally completed the finished DVD package and we've got copies. So, i've got a DVD of Blue-Jay playing with my and my boys!

The video quality is superb, but the audio is marginal. Two big problems. It's really dry since the room was pretty live, and they used minimal FX. So, the direct signal to the cameras was awfully dry. The mix when we're playing three piece isn't bad, and it's ok near the end. But, there are elements where the guitar is too loud and keys and sax aren't loud enough. But, of course, once our other bass player came up to play (he was the soundman most of the day), a GUITAR PLAYER TOOK OVER ON SOUND! Of course, all he cared about was guitar, not the piano or sax! (Yeah, he's another typical example of being a "Guitar Player" but not a musician.)

It's a nice momento and it's a real fully packaged DVD with 2 DU'ers on stage at the same time. And, when he's playing with us, the stage is completely full of liberals.

Of course, since we reserve all rights, i'll have to charge for viewing it. Nyah nyah!
