Ok, for the last week or two I've been getting emails from my boss about the company's PAC.
I work for a LARGE bank. And as an employee I certainly want the company to be successful but given the type of company it is I want to know exactly what the PAC plans to do before I would give it any money. Since I don't have details, (which candidates, legislative issues, etc it plans to contribute to) I don't want to contribute.
So I've been ignoring the emails.
Today at the staff meeting I'm told that everyone has to respond. Meaning that I have to go to the pledge site and if I don't wish to give pledge check off the "I do not wish to pledge".
This is not anonymous, they track who responds and that's why I got the message today because they told my boss that not everyone in his group had responded.
WTF!
This does not seem just to me. Now they know who is giving money and who isn't. And of course they know how much I make so they know it isn't because I can't afford to give something. This seems like intimidation to me.
