C'mon, one of the greatest movies of all times in which gary Oldham played a really bad guy who crunched down on speed before killing. Leon it was called in Europe. I think they called it The Assassin here?

Gary Oldham was also in Sid and Nancy, and is in the upcoming Batman Begins.

Possibly the best actor, ever. Okay?

Did anyone see Nil by mouth, written and directed by Oldham?

Dude...he is just so much of a freaking evil genius, it's not funny. He so cold and calculating...I love the character of Palpatine in the Star Wars movies, he is the perfect character to love to hate...

The latest movie cemented that. Very patient, deliberate, turning possible weaknessess into advantages. And the voice was cool as hell!

Very chilling, how dark the character was. It was like he was hunting for what weakness to exploit in Anakin

Palpatine breathed, ate, sweated and pooped evil!

I hope he gets an oscar nod, but I don't know.

44. Totally Agree...

Ian definitely derserves a oscar nod, but I'm not sure either if he gets one, because The Academy usually ignores performences in movies such as the Star Wars movies, even through a couple of years ago the third Lord Of The Rings movie, Return Of The King won a bunch of oscars, including best movie...so one never really knows for sure.

Ebert seems to think the performance was oscar worthy. Who knows, only time will tell.

47. Yes, the subtle smile right after he said the apprentice killed him

in his sleep was very telling.

There were a couple more subtle smiles, like right before he zapped Mace out of the window and after he told Darth Vader that Padme was dead. Just a flash, not very obvious, but very chilling.
