Drag racing
I was in Toledo, Ohio tonight for my truck driving gig. After I get off the highway I have to travel about 4 miles down a city street to get to my destination. I came up on a red light and there was a kid on bike going the same direction also waiting on the light. He looked over at me a couple of times and smiled. When the light turned green he took off giving the bike all he could. He got me off the line. As I went through the gears and started to catch up with him he looked over his shoulder to see where I was and when he saw me gaining he tried to peddle even harder. I caught him when I hit 6th gear and 20 mph. He may have had more pick up than me but I had a higher top end. :)

3. When I was a kid my brother and I would try to see if the cop running
radar on our street was awake, we would go to the top of the hill and pedal like hell downhill. He actually clocked us at 35mph in a 30...then all the kids would try. We all had fun including the cop.

10. Thats kinda funny he is running with Democrat endorsement.....
and forced a Repug primary. We just had a local bond issue vote he was against and it was defeated 4-1....looks like he is sending the present Repuke packing. He gave up a seat on the legislature to come back home and run against the other fellow.

8. "Like cards flapping on spokes, these are the Days of Our Lives"
There comes a time when one has to decide if it is cooler to sound cool, or just look cool. Cards in the spokes in this instance probably would have served both purposes as it seems you had him on gear ratio at the end of the .....?....(1/16)? mile.....

so anyway.....Banana seat and a sissy bar? Orange peeler? Apple Crate? or regulation Iverson ten speed? (remember those? Weighed 40 pounds? I had one!) Thought i was the fastest bike in the east.

And here i was, all ready to say something about an 8000 horsepower, top fuel Keith Black V8.

9. Kids got it easy today.........
my buddy's son got this plastic fart pipe which attaches to the bicycle and makes a rumble sound of sorts. I prefered the old baseball card/clothes pin method. Remember we used guys from teams we hated. For parades we even wove in that long banner paper between the spokes.

I have seen a few retro bicycles being made now...Orange County Choppers has one made by Schwinn. I long for the coaster brake days.
