What was your Worst / Best GPA for a semester - trending up or down?
Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 07:37 PM by RPM
In light of the recent discussions of Kerry's grades at Yale, I am conducting some informal research into people's improvement as students while in school.

Your personal results would be appreciated in seeing whether improvement is a general trend...

In the interest of full disclosure - here are my worsts/bests:

Law School: 2.63 (first semester, 1L) / 4.0 (second semester, 3L)
Undergrad: 2.95 (second semester, freshman year) / 3.51 (second semester, senior year)

Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 07:32 PM by HullBoss
Sorry, I can't recall, except that I know I had a few 4.0 semesters, and enough that weren't to bring my overall GPA down to around 3.2 if I remember right.

27. If I remember right...
I think I finished high because I was done with all that stupid math that I had to take to get a BS, and I was finally taking classes that were more interesting to me. I really didn't care too much for the first couple of years. I think I had 5 A's and a B my last semester, and that was in spite of working 40 hours a week and partying like crazy. I could never carry on like that these days.

14. I don't have much to go on.
I graduated high school with a 3.7

My grades in college, I have blocked out, though I do remember knocking the socks off my freshman discourse instructor. ;)

I later dropped out of college, but went back later and put myself through radio school (it was a vocational/technical school, really, though they did offer regular college courses, some of which I took). I had a 4.0 every semester and graduated with a 4.0.

16. Worst would be 1.3 (not a typo). Best was 4.0, final 4 semesters...
That ripping 1.3 made me subject to academic dismissal, so a torch was lit under me for the following spring -- I actually showed up and stayed awake!

Grad school (Art): Lowest was 3.6, the rest were 4.0.

18. good, bad, then good again
Edited on Tue Jun-07-05 07:45 PM by VelmaD
I started out on the Dean's List my freshman year. 4.0 both semesters I think. Then I had a little nervous breakdown. My grades went in the toilet. I was even on academic probation for a while. Once I got things back under control and figured out what I wanted to do with myself my grades went back up. All As with a few Bs my last 2 years of undergrad.

Grad school I made excellent grades...somewhere around a 3.5 gpa I think...may have been a littel higher...it's been a few years.

First semester: 3.98 Only non-4.0 that semester? "Freshman Year Introduction". Like I needed that?

Best was 4.0. Worst... probably a 3.1? I don't remember. Overall GPA when I left school was a 3.83.

37. I also once got a 4.03.
No, it wasn't through AP credit (although I had a pile of that when I started college). The university at which I did my undergraduate work allowed professors to give students the occasional A+. I was a reeeeeaaaaalllly anal-retentive grade-whore. Also, I took my academic work extremely seriously in college. Long, involved stories, I guess, but there were a couple of terms in which instructors gave me A+s and my average went up over a four-point because of my overachievement in those courses at those times. My college transcripts actually look kind of strange in that respect.

the worst was in the Spring of my Soph year and the best was in the fall of my soph year. I'm probably a bad example because my cumulative GPA is 3.86, so I get pretty good grades in general
