Hey NYC DUers coming to the June 11th Gathering, let's have a Belmont pool

As you know, this Saturday, we're having a gathering in NYC for DUers. I will be roadtripping up to NYC with fellow DUer Jimmy Jazz and I'm hoping there will be plenty of other DUers to meetup with.

Anyhow, Saturday at 5:30 is the Belmont Stakes, the 3rd race in the Triple Crown (although there are no winners for the triple crown since Giacamo won the Kentucky Derby and Delaware Park's own Afleet Alex won the Preakness).

So my proposal is this, a little friend horse race amongst friends of the gathering. I'll use the Ramsey system of horse race betting where you bid on the horse you want in the race. The highest bidder (and we're talking dollars - no one should go too overboard on their bidding) will win the right to have that horse as their horse in the race. We'll gather up all the money and then divide it up 60%, 25%, 15% for Win, Place and Show on the horses. You are welcomed to bid on more than 1 horse.

We finally opted for a hotel room for the night. I'm not sure who else is in the room but we're all pro-sniffa.

ANd the gambling is all just for fun. Hell, I know nothing about Horseracing and I won $56 from Ramsey's Kentucky Derby party
