It was a temporary gig which unfortunately ends today and then I'll just be doing full time waitressing. I won't be able to post as much, but maybe I'll have a day off here or there, which I will undoubtedly use to post here on DU. Ah the cycle continues. Waitressing will definitely help in the not 'taking everything so personal' department. It's a great bar/restaurant to work for and the staff is really nice.

And I think working in a restaurant w/ a bar is the way to go -- bigger tips than a regular place, but not just a bar scene. I always made the best friends in those places & even though I have a full-time office job, I miss waitressing sometimes. As much as I hated it, sometimes I'd like to go back to it.

I'm sure you already know this, but don't let asshole customers get to you. I am a FIRM believer that the customer is NOT always right. :)

I haven't been at my desk all morning because I've been making the rounds and saying good bye to everyone. It's a nice thing to do especially in politics. I don't know if I'll come back to CT or the political bubble for that matter, but it's nice to leave on a good note in case things fall through. Everyone who I talk to is really happy for me and all the developments. I'm really very lucky.
