4. Whats not to like? Gang members dressed like baseball players
with every other nutty gang in the city going after five guys...jeez. Oh, don't forget that James Remar was in it-very underrated actor,by the way.

5. I just watched that a few weeks ago. I was laughing out loud..
..the acting.....the whole thing was just so bad it was good. I mean was there ever actually a time when gangs used mime make up and/or dressed in baseball uniforms?

I remember being frightened by the posters and ads for that movie when it came out and I was a kid. But then watching it years late like I did a few weeks ago I was just laughing at how I could have every viewed it as scary.

8. They were called the "Baseball Furies", yeah...the mime thing never did
strike me as threatening, either. But don't get me wrong, mimes CAN creep me out sometimes. Speaking of mimes, if you were going to shoot a mime would you use a silencer? Just wondering....

10. It came out in 1979, I think. It's about a gang called the Warriors who
are accused of killing the grandmaster of street gangs at a gang rally. Basically, they're being chased the entire movie by really corny looking gang members. There is even a gang that dressed in suspenders and striped shirts that travel on rollerskates

11. I loved the gang that dressed as mimes
they were in the very beginning of the film, when all the gangs are converging on the park meeting.

Hubby and I say that line to each other a lot and if others are around they just look at us funny.

What made you think of it today?

Now you knock around some Baseball Furies in the safety and privacy of your own home.

I'm thinking there's gotta be a special edition DVD bouncing around somewhere. If not, well, it's a damn shame.

32. I first saw it in 1986. I thought it was a remarkable film.
I had heard all the reports of gang violence and vandalization of movie theaters where it was screened, and built up in my mind this ultra-violent, brain-dead genre flick. It turned out to be an astonishingly good movie. It was surreal, disorienting and absolutely captivating. Mary (or was it Martha?) Thigpen as the spidery, omniscient DJ was a revelation. The acting of the principles was not so great, but in later years when I would see Michael Beck, David Patrick Kelly and James Remar in button-down adult roles, I'd think "Hey! They grew up and made it out of the jungle!"

Also worth a look for a young, VERY hot Mercedes Ruehl.

The film presages the L.A. "Colors" gangs, and offers a compelling glimpse, accurate or not, of the New York City gang underworld.

Man, just talking abut it makes me want to see it again.

I liked many movies of the era, but I just thought that movie absolutely blew limbaugh ass. It was corny as hell.

Maybe I am the only one.
