what movie/TV series presents your town most and least accurately?

Victoria, B.C. -- generally they just use this as a location to stand in for other places (like in Mel Gibson's "Bird on a Wire", where it was supposed to be Madison, Wisconsin!).

The independent film "Emile" (with Sir Ian McKellen) is supposed to be pretty accurate, though I haven't seen it yet. But I did see the sequel to "The Other Side of the Mountain", which seemed to imply that we spend the day wandering around the Butchart Gardens (the locals don't think it's all it's cracked up to be), or sunning ourselves on beaches that look suspiciously like the one next to UBC in Vancouver. And riding around on the ferry. (Okay, that part isn't too far off ... except that I'm pretty sure that even in the 1970s, they had elevators so people in wheelchairs didn't have to be carried up to the passenger deck.)

1. Dickinson, North Dakota = Beautiful Girls

Not the same town as in the movie, but since Dickinson is in NO movies, it best represents what Dickinson would be like if it WERE to make it into a movie. FOllow?

2. My picks
Most:

Arrested Development - Pokes fun at a lot of the way life REALLY is in Orange County.

Least:

Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County - Instead of a bunch of rich snobs from Newport who have no idea how the real world works, how about they show a bunch of broke college students from Cal State Fullerton like myself?

The OC - No explanation needed.

3. Remember Carrol O'Conner in "The Heat of the Night" (TV)?
That little Mississippi town is basically a match for where I live.

4. Least accurately -- all of them
Las Vegas is more than the 1/2 mile "Strip" -- and CSI is filmed someplace green and rainy.
