help with sig

I am trying to put my blog in there, like this: (minus spaces)

< s t p a l m.blogspot.com | the grea test blog on the fa ce of t he earth>

But it disappears from my sig! What the hell? Please help, this is supremely frustrating.

EDIT: Wow, I just posted my sig line up there and the thing disappeared from the post, too! I really had to put in lots of spaces for it to appear!

1. I had trouble putting in a sig line also.

if no, just type this:
stpalm.blogspot.com | the greatest blog on the face of the
earth

if yes, type this:

[a href="http://stpalm.blogspot.com"]the greatest
blog on the face of the earth[/a]

or 

http://stpalm.blogspot.com | the greatest blog on the face of
the earth

They all do something slightly different.

if yes, type this:

the greatest blog on the face of the
earth

or

http://stpalm.blogspot.com | the greatest blog on the face of

3. Use square brackets, not angle brackets. The forum software uses

the < and > so you have to use [ and ]

When you post a message, you'll see this:

Message options	HTML use enabled.  Use [] instead of <>.
 HTML lookup table

Click on the link and it will give you examples, use the info
in your sig line.

5. here's another weird thing

the brackets below the plus and minus buttons near the backspace button turn into this:
