Is it just me, or is 13 years a long time to wait for a funeral?

A woman in Vancouver got robbed yesterday. Two boxes were stolen containing the remains of her brother and sister. She wants them back. The service is supposed to be early next week.
Her brother died in April. Her sister died in 1992.
Was she going for a group discount?

I know families that have kept "granma" on the top shelf of the coat closet for years.

3. I'm hoping to wait a good deal longer than 13 years for mine |
|
I shouldn't really make levity of such a topic.
People do things which appear somewhat odd when it comes to grieving.

4. If she's an older woman |
|
She may have kept their ashes in her home and has now decided that since she's getting older she's ready to pass them on... and maybe no one else in the family wants them--so she's decided to bury them.

7. Maybe someone passed the ashes on to her and she's decided |
|
that she doesn't want to keep them--that she'd rather bury them.
