I'm watching 'Monster' again. Charlize acts her ass off in this one

realized her lover had the police listening in and was going to sell her out. The way her face crumbles but then changes as she decides as an act of love to play along is moving.

became her.she showed that this woman deserved absolutely no sympathy. her portrayal of evil was so convincing it was really difficult to watch at times yet it was like a car wreck,you can`t turn your eyes away.

by an old man on her street, she was beat by her grandfather because he blamed her for the grandmothers death. Every person she ever loved screwed her over in some way.

I felt LOTS of sympathy for her. After the life she had, I think the only result was to become what she became.

10. Ugly is the new retarded, for women.

I thought that was the funniest line I ever heard, it refers to the new trend in movies, when an actress wants to be known as "serious" these days they go ugly, shows how serious an artist they are and all. This trend has replaced the men who play retarded, a la Forrest Gump fad of a few years back.

The movie was unwatchable. I really thought it stunk on ice, myself. Couldn't get much more than half-way through, the laughable little romantic sub-plot with the lesbian relationship with the nice little suburban girl, yeah, that was when obviousness and preachiness and ham-handed acting went totally ober the top into embarrassingly bad. I got douche-chills.

12. It's a great movie...

But it's one movie that I will never watch again. I couldn't get that face out of my head, and I had nightmares. Charlize acted her ass off sure, but she's good at playing skanks. I just think she's so skanky. I can't stand to watch her.

call me crazy, i couldn't help but feel sorry for her.

jeb executed her, she was so ill, she'd lost all sense of reality... she'd developed severe schizophrenia, among other things.

i just wish her parents could have been held responsible for what they did to her as a child, that no doubt contributed to how she turned out.

20. It was unwatchable for me

I had no sympathy whatsoever for the characters; they were so unlikable I could care less what happened to them. I think they deserved what they got. The best argument for the death penalty were this woman (wournos) and her "friend" who was just an idiot.
