I woke up this morning when my wife's alarm went off at 6:30 (she goes into work at 8 and I don't work until the afternoon) and my mouth was really dry and it was really, really thick mucus and right away I knew I was sicker than a dog, my head was spinning, every joint in my body ached and I although I couldn't pin point any specific pain I felt more terrible than I have since I found a treatment for my Crohn's disease... actually worse because it was total body hell... Now I have had the flu many times before and I was wishing if it could ONLY be the flu. I immediately started drinking water but nothing could quench my thirst.... I am a grown man that can handle pain and such but like by 7:15 I was whimpering like a schoolboy for my wife not to go into work right away because I was very scared to be alone because i felt THAT bad. Then I started having a bit of Diarrea but not much but than I lost consciousness on the pot and my wife said I lost all color in my face and she freaked out. I came to enough for her to get some clothes on me and we went to urgentcare... they took good care of me with an I.V. and took urine samples, blood samples and took all sorts of vitals. I stayed there for a few hours, getting slowly better.... I have been home for a few hours now and feel 90% but am still very very rundown like I have run 2 marathons. Urgentcare has no idea what it was, every analysis came out fine.
I didn't eat ANYTHING out of the ordinary last night or even all day yesterday but I didn't drink very much water at all, instead I had 2 cans of soda last night instead of water. So what do you think? Just a bad spell of dehydration? A flu strain that put all of its punch into 3 hours of hell? Am I wimp, what?
I am on Adderall and have been for 1 month... they say I need to watch out for dehydration on that. I am also on Immuran for my Crohn's and get the Remicaid transfusions. I recently went back on Immuran after my gastro warned me that just because the remicaid is a miracle now, it won't keep being a miracle if i am not on something else. So it could be an interaction between my Adderall and IMmuran... also the physician at Urgentcare said that both Immuran and Remicaid limit your abilitiy to fight internal infections.... so what's your diagnosis, Dr. DU?
BTW: I am a 28 year old male, if anything underweight.... only medical problems are Crohns and ADHD.
