I didn't make it to work today

I got to the edge of the driveway and the battery light came on, then went off .. so I kept going. 2 miles down the road it came on again. It wouldn't go off this time. I stopped the car figuring if the battery is charging ok the car will start with no problem, and it did. I headed for the highway, no battery light on , good deal. I get ON the highway and the light comes on grrr. SO I get off the highway again and head to the dealership, sure enough $410.00 later I have a new alternator.
At least the car didn't break down on me and I didn't have a tow bill. But I did miss work!

I work 2nd shift, by the time they got the alternator from another dealer and had it put in, I figured there was no point in going to work (lame I know). It's a 45 minute drive so I just stayed here.

I was afraid that you were ill...I'm so glad you're OK! Cars can be fixed/replaced, but it's harder to fix/replace people! Especially nice ones like yourself...

If your boss doubts your story, you can always show him/her your receipt for the new alternator.
