Cripes. 5+ DUI's!

I saw a guy's name on a local newspaper's "Day In Court," he's 60, I met him a decade or so ago, haven't seen him in years.

But he's going to be in jail now for the next 8 months, 5 plus DUI's.

When I knew him, he always claimed he could "hold his booze."

1. A guy down here was sentenced to life on his 8th DWI.

A few DWI's too late if you ask me, but better late than never.

3. Ridiculous that it takes 8 to earn that sentence.

4. My ex (who was a major turd in many ways)

has received eight in his lifetime, but only three ( :wow: ) within a five year period. He was sentenced to three years in Texas. He went to jail with the big boys. I bet he's not such a badass now.

5. If it were up to me,

one DUI gets you 30 days in jail and a year without your license.
two DUIs gets your license revoked for the rest of your life.
three DUIs and you're locked up til you're dust.

Though some days I feel like step 2 should be skipped. Can you tell I had a good friend killed by a drunk driver?

I can't remember their combined DUI count offhand...
