I'm listening to The Killers
After having "Somebody Told Me" stuck in my head on and off for the last few months, I decided to buy the "Hot Fuss" CD. It's really good ... I'm sitting here dancing in my seat!

1. It is pretty good.
I liked them before anyone even knew who they were. Now everyone likes them and I feel so unspecial.

I also love The Bravery; more than The Killers actually.

God bless this current crop of New Wave-redux, synth, punk, rockers! :)

5. I just checked them out via iTunes
You're right ... they're really good! They remind me of Alphaville. :-)

7. Oh yeah, it's great to be able to sample new artists ...
Edited on Fri Jun-10-05 10:45 PM by BattyDem

even download a song or two for a couple of bucks, before going out and buying a CD. I've been sampling music and artists that I never heard before. I found some great stuff just by checking out people's iMix files! :bounce:

3. Yup, same with me.
I remember playing "Somebody Told Me" last fall and everyone was like "Whoa, who are those guys? They kick ass!"

Does The Bravery sound similar? I'll check them out.

8. The Killers are just the flavor of the month...and whiney twits at that.
They seem hell-bent at trash-talking their way to the top.

If you like that sound at all, check out Bloc Party. They are pretty popular right now too and 100x more talented, imo.

9. Honestly, I don't know anything about them ...
I've never seen them interviewed and I've never read any articles about them. "Somebody Told Me" has been stuck in my head for a while, so I figured I'd buy the CD ... and I really like it. :-)

I'll check out Bloc Party, too. Thanks for the tip. :toast:

10. i bought it having heard good things from a friend.
i was surprised at what came out of my headphones, not the type of music i or my friend usuially listened too... but i already paid 13 bucks for it... so i just let it spin, and i was plesantly surprised... i was hooked when i heard Mr Brightside and Andy, Youre a Star... and i listened to it for a week and a half straight, not being the only thing i listened to but it was a good margin of what i did.
