...I asked a simple question for a link. I have no hidden agenda behind my motive for wanting the link.

I do however do not appreciate being questioned like this, especially when I have been here for a lot of years and people know I am not some sort of child perv, or a person to want to cause harm to others.

A DU newbie might think you are suggesting that fc herself is some sort of pervert who wants to hook up with kiddie abusers. (What other "suspicion" could you have?)

Inadvertently or not, you have just undermined fc's credibility -- when you haven't the first clue about her "motives."

Gee, could it possibly be that fc might be interested in simply READING about what various Internet "Guardian Angels" are doing? Could it possibly be that her interest is merely academic?

I find it downright shocking -- especially on DU -- that expressing interest in learning about any subject, no matter how controversial, automatically casts suspicion on the one doing the asking.

Funny, but isn't that what the library provision in The Patriot Act does? Glad I haven't checked out "Catcher in the Rye" recently.

I sure hope nobody ever hits you with the same sort of suspicion about your "motives" the next time you ask for a link to information about Eric Rudolph, or Charles Manson, or Southern Partisan Magazine, or anything at all about 9/11.

I didn't accuse anything, in fact, in my original posting, I thought I went to pains to point out I was not accusing anyone of anything. But that it raised a very valid question as to the motives of one who might wish to know.

Maddy. This is the one. It was posted here on DU a few months back, and it was that thread which piqued my interest in this site.

Of course my interest in this site is simply because I have been the victim of sexual crimes in the past and found this site to be an excellent resource for survivors.

Anyway, Maddy, thank you so much for helping this survivor out today. It is greatly appreciated. :)
