Poll question: One Night in Bangkok

When this was released (about 1985), two versions came out almost on top of each other. Both made the charts, both made it into the top 40.

One version is more well known--the Murray Head version, and the other is by Robey.

Which version do you like better? And do you even remember that there were two versions?

2. The Robey version sucked!

Yes, I actually had both versions on 45rpm. Robey had a sexy voice. On the radio, they would do a meld of both versions with Robey speaking the verses and Murray Head singing the chorus. I went out and got the Robey version, 'cause her voice really turned me on, only to find out the the arrangement and instrumentation on her version big the big baloney.

I love the Murray Head version for his incredible voice (that always reminds me of Judas from "Jesus Christ Superstar", on which he ROCKED!) and the great arrangement with dazzling synthesizers and that magnificent Thai flute in the middle eight.
