4. Not today. No, I am not feeling self-destructive, (don't lock!)
I'm just having difficulty believing in the durable good or benevolent potential of other humans this afternoon.

5. Yes -
But the key many people miss is it's SELF-fulfilling. Life is what you make it!

7. Not really.
If life is what we make of it, how come we're all screaming against the reagan/* empire that's about to crumble?

I'm still fathoming how I'm going to live without my belongings.

9. Life is....
10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it.

Cliche, but true!

8. for me yes
I recognize that most people are unhappy but am not sure what I can do about it except knock on wood ever so often.

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

10. Yes, I do
I'm an odd duck. I'm an optimistic depressive - bit of an oxymoron, I know but it's kept me going through some pretty deep shit.

There have been times in my life when I was very frightened. Frightened by the fragility of my own mind and sanity and frightened by the world climate, as well as the insecurity of my own position in the world (poor and struggling, always). Yet there's always been a little area in my mind that kept believing that being alive was better than being dead - even with all the fears and hurts and worries and stresses that I've gone through - and I've gone through a lot.

Life is fulfilling precisely because it is unpredictable. Were it all mapped out and easy, it would be boring and we wouldn't really learn much from it. I'm not remotely religious and don't necessarily believe I have a "purpose" in life but I do believe that my life, even the bad parts (which have far outnumbered the good), has been worth it if only for what I've gained in knowledge and compassion for others.
