Poll question: Of these scenarios, which do you want to have happen to you FIRST?
First, before the other two could take effect?

Depressing, I know, but I'm still trying to fathom this out for myself...

1. no. 3 is the winner
I lost my job years ago. If you are fast on your feet and the economy has sufficient fat in it, you don't need a job. Better to be the only loser in a world of 1,000 winners, because you can do very nicely for yourself just off their discards and crumbs from the rich man's table. When the entire economy is crushed and everyone is in competition for the crumbs, guess what, you're screwed because unless you're the 500 pound gorilla of the junkyard you're not getting any. I'm serious, if the world is fat enough, a smart person doesn't have to work.

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.
--John Mitchell, US Attorney General 1969-72
