Poll question: Is this illegal? (Cuban grapefruit juice question)

So, I was sitting on the patio with my Swiss husband a few minutes ago, and he opens a carton of grapefruit juice, pours a glass half full and tops it off with cabonated water.

I reach for the glass and am just about to take a sip, when he says, "Don't drink that! It's illegal for you."

What the heck?

"Read the label," he says, handing me the carton of grapefruit juice.

Label says: "Ingredienti: succo di pomplemo a base di concentrator (USA/Cuba)" which means, roughly translated from Italian: "Ingredients: juice from conentrate of grapefruits from the US and Cuba."

Ya'll help me out here!

1. Don't drink it if you're taking certain medications. Look them up

on the internet to see if you can safely drink "any" grapefruit juice no matter its origins. Seriously...just in case there are those who don't know this fact.

If you're medicine free or if there are no contraindications for drinking it if you are taking medicines, I say drink up and enjoy it if you like it.

my husband was sort of having some fun with the fact that it's OK for an American to travel to Switzerland and enjoy a glass of US/Cuban grapefruit juice, but it's not OK for an American to travel to Cuba and enjoy it, or for Cubans to travel to the US to enjoy the same combination. (Husband is a very non-neutral Swiss guy. :shrug: )
