It doesn't get any better than that.

1. You must hate America if you hate the Cubs
How can you hate the lovable losers?

2. You gotta be from Chicago to understand
I grew up on the South Side (White Sox are a south side team). I hated the Cubs. Still do. (Ironically, I like many of the current players).

9. Go White Sox! Go Red Sox!
And the Cubs have returned to the rightful place as a suppliant to the two real baseball teams.

12. Other way for me...
Red Sox, then White Sox! :)

However, if the Sox hadn't torn down the original Comiskey Park to build the current monstrosity, they'd be my #1. I'm still bitter about that. ;)

11. i don`t see to many cubs fans
posting about the team being great this year...
the cubs should dump dusty and with a couple more players they could get back in the hunt.
ozzie and the front office has done a great job in reforming the sox to play "small ball". at least this year us sox fans have a little hope the sox will get into the play-offs but those dam twins are a few games back.white sox win and the cubs lose-ya,doesn`t get better than that.

14. Thus exhibiting the classic difference between a Cubs fan and a Sox fan.
Really, there is no Sox-Cubs rivalry, it doesn't exist. What does exist is a Sox fan Cub resentment. We Cubs fans simple don't care if the Sox win or lose, and unless they join the NL Central, we won't.

Conversly, you the best team in the AL and all you can talk about it how the Cubs are doing. Still a lot of empties at Comisky.

As far as my team goes, if you've been watching, even if only in the hopes that we'll lose, you'll have noticed the Cubs spent the weekend winning a three game series against the defending World Series champs. We aren't crying in Wrigleyville over this one game. We got beat tonight by a vicious knuckleballer that we aren't used to seeing. Still won the series. Matter of fact, we've been doing a good deal of winning recently.

Now go to Comisky and watch some ballgames. Seriously, it's June, enjoy the baseball season. Root for your team. That's how we do it up north.

19. Remind me again, why do you care?
Enjoy your Sox. I'll enjoy my Cubs. We're were shaky at first, but we're playing good now.

You're proving my point. Sox fans care more about how the Cubs are doing than they care about the Sox.

And to answer your question:
6.5 back in the NLC
1.5 in the NL wild card

And all that without our two best starters and our All-Star shortstop. Now go to Comisky and stop worrying about the Cubs record. You don't have to worry about how Lee and Ramirez are batting, you need to focus on Torii two-eyes and the guys in the American League.

25. Torment?
:eyes:

That is as lame as Giants fans "tormenting" A's fans.

I usually root for both Chi-teams, but Sox fans make it really hard to do so.

Oh - and the Bears really do suck.

I always get some "Cubs" fan to rise to the bait. It's like shooting ducks in a barrel. Keep rooting for the Cubs. Losers.

36. No torment to it.
When SOx fans give Cubs fans a hard time, what we Cubs fans are thinking is "Why doesn't this guy care about his team?" It just baffles me how Sox fans don't really give a crap about the Sox, that's all.

This time he knew better than to sing off key. He just talked his way through it. Still bad, but much improved.

23. Ditka's singing will never be great, but
I thought that it had a helluva lot of heart. The first time he sang, it was easily one of the top five funniest versions, right up there with Ozzy O.

Personally, I wish they would drop it, play a tape of Harry, or let regular fans (and reg fans only) sing it. Ditka is cool, but sitcom stars etc don't fly with me.

29. My buddy's wife is in Vegas. He had to hang up on me so he
could call her and get his money down on the Cubs before the game began. He also wanted her to put $50 on Detroit, so he'd enjoy the game more.

1) If she did place those bets, I doubt he enjoyed either game for very long.

2) I don't think she'll let him call in any more bets because they keep messing up her win percentage.

My wife went to Marquette. I go up there every so often to catch a Brewer's game, and in the winter watch the Admirals. The hockey is pretty good, but they're a step (glide?) slower than the NHL. The best thing about going up there is that you can get a seat 4 rows from the ice on the red-line for $20. Real Chili is a great place for after the game.
