http://www.premiereproductsinc.com/ppi_players/kevin_haney2.htmHere, for your entertainment and edification -- how they make an actor look like George W. Bush. Given Stephanie's thread
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=104&topic_id=620371&mesg_id=620371over in GD about Dubya showing some wear and tear ... I thought it was kind of ironic that a guy (actually, his management company) would spend hundreds of thousands of dollars developing the prosthetics and makeup that would simulate that effect ... meanwhile, the White House probably spends even more, covering up all those capillaries and blotches! I had to laugh at the names of the colors used ... "Aged Blood" and "RedRum" -- sounds pretty gruesome!
"For shading, Kevin uses Teak (available only in liquid) and Aged Blood from the
FX Palette. From the original Flesh Tone Palette, Kevin uses Natural 1 & Rice Paper for
highlights. Liver spots are created with Olive Adjuster 2 and from the Dark Flesh Tone
Palette, Espresso 1 & Espresso 2.
"From the Complexion Palette, Kevin uses RedRum for capillaries and DT Blush for
blush effects. Coral Blue is used for beard shading and a final over spray of Dinair's Olive
Biege II and Golden Tan II are applied."
Granted, the actor (who does the Bush impression on Leno's show) makes thousands of dollars a pop with personal appearances "in character". (I hear that he is an evangelical Christian who preaches on the side ... I hope that he doesn't let rip when he's in full costume and makeup, because that would sure torpedo the church/state separation thing.)
But hey -- flying around the country, speaking to pre-screened audiences, making money -- what else would a Bush impersonator do? He probably makes as much as Dubya (POTUS salary $400k) but doesn't do nearly as much damage!
p.s. Anybody else think how much fun it would be to get a left-leaning character actor like, say, Tim Robbins in the same get-up and have him do a pretend State of the Union?
