"But I was going to Tashi Station to pick up some power converters!"
Yep, I finally saw Star Wars Episode Whatever.

I was very surprised to find myself enjoying it. The acting, oy, the acting ... wow did it suck. Yet somehow the movie was very satisfying.

The scene in which Darth Vader meets his awful fate ... I was shocked at how violent and frightening it was. And the little boy who played the youngling ... that was quite an effective scene. I was actually weepy.

I know I'm a Johnny-come-lately with this film but I just had to post my 2 cents about it ...

However, my favorite Star Wars line will always be, "But I was going to Tashi Station to pick up some power converters!" Wah wah  ... poor Luke.

Good Morning! :hi:

1. Call me weird...
But I liked "Return Of The Jedi" the best.

I just simply enjoyed the movie.

I mean, DAMN! No wonder he went evil!

I enjoyed the movie too.

7. There's a lesson to be learned here....
Embrace democratic principles, or you'll find yourself abandoned and alone with your legs cut off, smoldering by a river of fire.

Yeeesh. I sound like a fundie.

6. Rewatched the original "Star Wars" right after "Revenge of the SIth"
Many of the lines in "Star Wars" have far different meaning now. Its intresting to watch Ben lie his ass off to Luke about his father.

8. What I found ironic,
is that Obi-Wan seemed to loosen up to Anakin's careless antics in "ROTS." He was much stricter in Episode II.

10. In the first one I remember them describing Vader
as a "Sith Lord" but we didn't know what it meant. Ha - now we know.

I liked seeing Uncle Owen and Aunt Barue(sp?) as young people too. They look like they've had a rough time in the desert there by the time we get to Star Wars and Luke.

I just wish they'd never made "the Force" a biological, bloodstream thing. It should have stayed more mystical than that, IMO.

by a Sith Lord of all things.

9. One hole in the series...
A hole in the plot of "Empire Strikes Back."

Ok, Anakin created C-3PO, right?

So why doesn't he say anything when he sees 3PO on Chewbacca's back?
We know 3PO had his memory erased, but did Anakin/Vader?

20. It may be a very common voice program.
You figure, as a slave on Tatooine, Anakin had limited resources to make a protocol droid. He probably had to use the most common voice program. It's not like he had access to buildyourownprotocoldroid.com or anything. :)

23. Well there is the rub
Lucas now has C-3PO being built by Anakin. Could someone explain to me what in the world does a slave need with a protocol droid and why he would build one? Wouldn't be smarter to build lets say a maid or butler droid to help his mother around the house or some kind of repair droid to help him.

12. Also Leia claims to remember her mother
but obvious she couldn't remember her if she died in childbirth. Someone speculated that she means her adopted mother, but I think it's a stretch.

Where's Lucas?
Let's pound some sense into him!
(Especially for his "revisions" of the originals. I mean Greedo shot first??!!??)

24. That was just stupid
Han was a smuggler and green face was telling him he was going to smoke him if he didn't give him the money. So he smoked the bastich.

I think he should have hired some geek to remind him of what he did before, so he wouldn't screw up.

Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 10:13 AM by derby378
From RotJ:

LUKE: Leia... do you remember your mother? Your real mother?
LEIA: Just a little bit. She died when I was very young.
LUKE: What do you remember?
LEIA: Just...images, really. Feelings.
LUKE: Tell me.
LEIA: She was very beautiful. Kind, but...sad.

17. Here is a possibility he lets them keep C-3PO
now if you are sitting in a prison cell then why would you be given your droid? Other than the fact that Vader knows that Chewie maybe able to fix him.

36. Oh yeah
This reminds me of the other good stupid storm trooper scene, where Luke and the Wookie are being chased down a hallway in the Deathstar, and a trooper behind them yells, "Close the blast doors, close the blast doors!" to prevent the heroes from getting away. Well, the two slip past the closing blast doors easily and the in the next moment, the same trooper is heard shouting "Open the blast doors, open the blast doors!!"

26. Anyone else ever bothered by the fact that you have the Jedi
in their huge temple with all the latest technology, having to buy gems for lighsabers, and with their own starfighters but they couldn't manage to cough up a couple thousand pieces of gold, credits, whatever to get Anakins mother out of slavery.

28. Yes.
When I want to escape from reality, I look for fantasy movies that show a real concern for societal issues.

Now that you bring it up, I'm certainly not supporting Yoda in the upcoming Jedi primaries.

29. I am just letting my inner geek out for some fun
But it is a plot flaw when you think the Jedi are to have compassion for all except this poor kid who is the kid of prophecy. They can't even raise a finger to get his mother even after Yoda launches into his fear leads to hate diatribe and he knows it all comes from the kid worrying about his mother.

34. ", having to buy gems for lighsabers"
Actually, if you watch the 'Clone Wars' animated episodes, you'll see they get the crystals for the lightsabers from a temple/cave on some other planet.

You also get to see why General Grievous(?) coughs and walks slumped over.
