Favorite Vegetable
I'm trying to eat more vegetables and I'm come to conclusion that the Snow Pea is the worlds best tasting vegetable. I only had a few dollars for lunch today and they had fresh snowpeas at the store. Microwaved them for about 1.2 minutes and added just a smidge of salt and I'm just loving lunch.

Long live the Snow Pea

What's your favorite vegetable?

19. Or.....
try broiling it or grilling it while basted with a sauce made of:

1 clove of crushed garlic
1 Tablespoon of Dark Seseme Oil
1 Tablespoon of Soy sauce

Just beofre taking it off the heat, sprinkle the asparagus with Seseme seeds and let them heat for just a few minutes....

It's WONDERFUL!

27. Broiling is excellent.....
Put the freshly washed & trimmed spears in an oven-proof dish, sprinkle with olive oil, minced garlic & a bit of parmesan. Heat in the oven until done....

(Use the broiler OR roast at a high temp.)

18. snow peas are fruits, as are corn, tomatoes, and squash....
Edited on Mon Jun-13-05 12:11 PM by mike_c
Onions are vegetables, contrary to the post above.

To clear this up once and for all for folks that missed a basic biology class :-) : fruits are reproductive tissues, so if it has seeds inside it's a FRUIT. If it doesn't have seeds it's VEGETABLE tissue.

My current favorite vegie is Swiss chard.

on edit: broccoli is BOTH fruit and vegetable, since it is the flower heads of Brassica-- it contains both reproductive and non reproductive tissue. The reproductive parts are immature, however, so a botanist might argue that they're not fruits yet.

25. Maybe in your world - but they're actually a vegetable
http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/5aday/month/peas.htm

Center for Disease Control says it's a vegetable. Snow Peas, along with Sugar Snap peas are all variations of the Green Pea.

So there.

In fact both your squash and corn are listed as vegetables:

http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/5aday/month/index.htm

Although technically if I eat corn, I consider it a starch

22. Can't name a favorite--I love so many
asparagas, green beans, beets, spinach, yellow (summer) squash,...

I don't care much for the mushy squashes (butternut, hubbard, acorn, etc)

other than that, I eat most any veggie.
