Please google the name Dale Akiki..there was plenty of evidence (seemingly) against him too and he looked REAL scary (nevermind that it was the byproduct of a disease...his life was RUINED because people thought he LOOKED like a molester.

Gavin DeBecker, an author who appeared on Oprah several times has a series of books about listening to your inner voice, or your intuition. It is a great read and really convinces you that doing something which might be perceived as insulting to another person, such as getting off the elevator when a strange man gets on, etc., etc., is a better option that getting hurt.

I thought the big was so insightful. In the books, he states that the reason your subconscience sounds warning bells is that it is picking up signals that your conscious has missed. There was one example of a mom who was in her front yard with her two kids when this guy drove up in a truck stating that he did lawn work. Well, something about him caused her to grab her kids and head for the house and he attacked her. She fought like a mama lion and drove the guy off. The signal? He had a truck, but no lawn equipment in it.
