flood watch but a beautiful 81 degrees. After all the rain it is a bit muggy but this is summer in Kansas, it is always muggy.

Bummer though. The forecast was calling for a week of dry weather but I guess that has changed, at least for tonight. Spank me for that, ANYTHING is better than the drought and 3 digit temps of two summers ago.

One good thing, it is almost like an acid trip it is so spongy here and green...GREEN!

It's much hotter away from the coast but she always claims it's a few degrees cooler up in the hills than it is in the big valley.

My youngest daughter lived with her father/grew up in Mariposa.

Yep, we've crawled all around those mountains...rich in history and so much fun. My sister lives on Yankee Hill Rd. You have to turn and pass through the state park town of Columbia to get to her house. She hangs out in Columbia; hates to go into Sonora. Says it's too crowded with "valley people" and new strip malls. She used to work an ancient motel in Angels Camp...loved it.

But, for FUNDAY on Saturday, the latest forecast says mostly sunny and 78 degrees. This will be our eleventh FUNDAY, and we've NEVER gotten more than twenty minutes of rain.

My house sounds like it's been hooked up to a radio telescope and is focused on a distant star - meaning the three air conditioners are making my room hum like crazy. The cat is out because night is the only time I'll let him be out for more than an hour at a time. I was VERY close to having a heat-related incident and had to extract myself from class and drink over 3 liters of water while parked in front of my a/c.

I really couldn't imagine being in Iraq.
