1. I can't recall *which* Kennedy it was
but one of the men took the bar several times before he passed...

Best of luck!

8. My sister and brother-in-law are waiting too...
They relocated to Ohio last summer and, of course, needed to take the Ohio Bar.

Your first Bar?

11. If it's any consolation,
It's my sister's third (Illinois and New York) and my brother-in-law's second (New York) and it's still a big deal for them. They've ben in nail-biting mode for the past week or so...

12. I absolutely dread having to take it again
It's not so much the exam itself, its the preparation for it. Virtually no life at all for nearly 2 months.

18. I can't guarantee an answer,
but from all of the information on the Ohio Bar that I have received, yes you do in order to take it in Ohio.

However, I have heard of people who have taken it without law school if they have studied under an attorney for six years or so. I do not know if that is the case in any state anymore, or at all (urban legends and all)

16. Thanks to everyone for your support
Here's the thing, yesterday I got a letter from the Ohio Bar Association stating that all admittees to the State Bar are required to take CLE courses within one year of being sworn in.

Do you think they would have sent me that if I had not passed? After all, they have known the results of those who have passed by a clear margin for a couple of weeks now.

Your thoughts are appreciated.

17. Here's a little timekiller...
I'm discussing something with a few friends on another board. I understand law is a broad field, but I have a question. Certainly you'll know more about it than I do.

Who would convene a grand jury to deal with Novak and the Plame affair? How long would Justice have to sandbag before some other action would be taken?

Any insight?

Good Luck, hope you nailed the Bar.

20. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
I have to take the Pennsylvania bad boy in July 2005.

Just a question...did you take a lot of "bar classes" in school or did you mostly take what you wanted? I've heard conflicting advice. I'm taking Estates & Trusts, Evidence, Professional Responsibility & Conflict of Laws this year; do I need to take a lot of the other stuff, or will I be better served to just take what interests me and study the other materials independently for the bar?

Again, good luck! Let us know what happens.

22. Yes I did take a lot of Bar courses
Here's the answer, I reccommend taking them, I did. However, they are not enough to pass the bar. You will need to take a prep course. I took bar bri. Had I not, there would be no doubt in my mind that I had failed.

The bar classes in LS will help you during prep time for the bar, as it will mostly be rehash, however, what the material asked on the Ohio was much broader than what I had learned in LS.

BTW, I went to LS in PA too, where do you go?

21. Best answer I can give you.
A federal prosecutor would be the one to bring this type of case. Normally they don't do that until there is sufficient evidence, so much so that they could convince the triers of the case that it should proceed to actual trial. (I am assuming that you understand the difference between a grand jury and a trial jury)

As far as the sandbagging part of the question, that's a bit more difficult. I really can't think of any other action that could be brought against Novak vis a vis Plame outside of a civil action if no criminal action was brought.

I don't know what the statute of limitations on this criminal act is either. 10 years, 20 years?

Did I answer your question?
