My Dad's family is from Connecticut. They settled there in the early 1900's. My Dad left home at an early age because his father was an abusive alcoholic. He rode the rails for a while, but stayed mostly around the Connecticut/upstate New York area. He lived quite the colorful life. Apparently I have at least one half-brother that I've never met, along with a host of other relatives that I only know peripherally. When Pop left the area and moved to Texas, he left the family and it's history behind. He speaks little of them now.

55. That's a hell of an interesting family history, but I wasn't born

in Connecticut, so we'reprobably not related. Though I do have roots in the state, going back to the 1600s when a Welsh regicide came here to escape Cromwell's men, then went native and started the Indian side of the family...the white side of his descendants knows about the Indian side, but there's never been a big reunion like the Jefferson Sally Hemmings thing.
