5. Now that's funny!!
or maybe I could just give him to W and hope that it is a progressive mental illness that will eventually end with an insatiable blood lust! :toast:

2. Yes
Cats are especially prone to mycoplasma infection that leads to dementia.

I think in your case, the cat just likes your toes.

9. My 19 year old cat suffers from mild senility
My vet says that both dogs and cats can develop senility.

In Boudicca's case, it's worse some days than others. Mostly she just starts walking someplace and stops, with this very confused body language, until she decides to go someplace else...

11. i had a dog that would do that...
that pretty much described the last few months of her life... until she had a stroke anyway...thing was 17... the hardest part of watching them grow old is watching them slowly slip mentally, in my opinon... just kills me.

13. I was giving her hyperthyroid medicine twice a day every day for 2 years
And high blood pressure medicine once a day every other day. Both were compounded with fish oil, so she absolutely loved getting her medicine. But last week she developed a sudden reaction to the hyperthyroid medicine - - most of the hair on her ears fell out, and she scratched at them so much that they bled. The vet took her of that med, and her ears are a little better, but the change in her routine seems to have made her senility worse. She used to (basically) nap all day and only get up to follow me into the kitchen twice a day, when I would feed her and give her the hyperthyroid medicine. Now she follows me every time I go anywhere, with that same confused body language when we get wherever I was going.

12. My cat used to have rapid cycling manic-depression
At 4 o'clock in the morning she'd be roaming through the house howling then when you'd get up she'd run circles around you until you put something in her food bowl. After eating she'd sleep for 12 hours only to get up again and start high-tailing it through the house as fast as she could.

Now she's old and just sleeps and eats most of the time without all the howling and running.
