Run AWAY! It's a...

penis with teeth!!!

I love to learn about animals, so post some photos of strange-looking animals. Oh, by the way, that's a naked mole rat above. :D

Edit: Maybe I should say "the elusive naked mole rat." Hope I finally found a pic that worked. :)

47. Why would that surprise you?
He was such a big Bill Bradley supporter that he used to hold huge fundraisers for him in California, and would get upset if anyone else did.

He donates to both parties, but mostly to the Democrats. He gave to Kerry, but not Bush, in 2004. He gave to Bush in 2000, but after that he gave to McCain, and then to Gore. He's never given to JEB, as far as I can tell. He doesn't have a perfect record, like, say, Tom Cruise, but for a CEO of a huge corporation, it's surprising.

http://www.newsmeat.com/fec/bystate_detail.php?st=CA&last=eisner&first=michael

As head of Disney, he supported domestic benefits for gay employees, even in the face of a boycott. He added attractions to Disney World with an obvious liberal bias, especially the anti-development, pro-environment films at Epcot.

His films like Lion King (I & II), Mulan and Pocahontas had multi-cultural and feminist messages, and two of them were anti-war. He made films that overcame the Snow White/Sleeping Beauty complacent woman image. Even films like Beauty and the Beast and Little Mermaid had more independent leads than the older Disney films.

Then there was Fahreneit 9-11. Moore threw a tizzie over Eisner "backing out" of that film, but the truth was that Eisner told Moore before he filmed it that Disney couldn't release it. Still, Eisner paid to have it made, then let Moore release it independently under the Weinstiens. Eisner could have killed that film before production or before distribution. Eisner is a PR genius, he knew his actions were helping promote the film.

So yeah, he's a moderate with liberal tendencies on key issues, who gives more money to the Democrats, but supports Republicans at times--which is what you would expect from a big corporate exec with a lot of business in a Republican state.

So creating the naked mole rat is a pretty liberal thing to do. :-)

He's an alienating bastard. He doesn't seem to care about anything but the bottom line and he nearly destroyed Disney in the process. He just acts, business wise, like a Republican.

I love them too. I always had this weird idea when I was a kid that if I ever won the lottery I would buy a couple thousand acres of land out west and tell the government if they wanted to they could set up a balck footed ferret colony on it. I guess because I had pet ferrets I ended up really liking the black footed ferret which is one of the most endangered animals in America

She informed me the other day that she wanted to be a zoologist (I was quite surprised when a four year old actually used that word!). She has decided that she wants to talk to dolphins and chimps.
Of course, she will want to be something else next week.

She hears things and has a great memory for words. You can hear her practice how to pronounce each new word that she hears all the time until she thinks that she said it right.
She really is a smart kid. I guess I have to admit that I must have done something right.
