So did you find it easy to get employment when you moved up there? I've wanted to move up there because I have an illness that is expensive to take care and I sure would like to take advantage of that health care system they've got up there.

If you aren't sponsored by a spouse (which I am) you have to be able to pass a points system that ensures you (in their eyes) that you'll be able to work here. And you have to have a certain amount of cash (I think it was 10,000 CDN last time I checked) to prove you'll be able to support yourself while you look for a job.

The best way I think is to get a job w/ a Canadian company, then apply for a workers visa; it would get you in the door, then you could go from there.

I've fallen deeply, madly in love w/ Canada; I doubt I'll ever come back to the US to live even if my wife and I ever were to break up. It just "feels" right to be here; even though I love the US, I feel like I've got a broken heart because of the insanity that's going on there now...

1st of all, I am somewhat limited by my geographic location, but I would enjoy some sort of public administration work.

Actually I have a couple of things in the works right now. One is as a title examiner, and the other is with the local county appraisal district.

If I can get one of these and can keep from getting my place foreclosed on, and get to where I can afford to pay for my wife's and my depression medication, etc., etc., I am thinking about running for Justice of the Peace.

I write a little, too.

57. Drank a whole glass of coffee with milk at 6 PM and now I'm paying for it.

I don't need anything but that to keep me revved for HOURS. I'm trying to calm down on this busy week and stay focused. My son, wife and their two boys are coming in on Sunday, Father's Day. I'm trying to make room of all of them in my house and I am stressed out completely.

It should be a pleasant visit, but I'm not a good hostess -- used to my own space (I have to give up my bedroom) -- not a great cook (although that shouldn't be a problem, as we're planning to have a barbecue at my daughter's house and eat out a couple of times).

I've always felt this way about social gatherings. I just don't have a good time because I always feel I'm being judged. It's ludicrous. I need to take a deep breath, remind myself that I'm not perfect and nobody cares if there's a little problem or two.

Last time we got together, we were in their home town (Salt Lake City) and we had a good time. It's these reverse visits that give me the willies.

Aw, shut up, Radio Lady. Go to sleep and you'll be better in the morning.
