1. It's best that you get fired.
If you resign, you would not be eligible for unemployment benefits.

6. A new employer will ask for references
YOU decide who those references are. THey also need your permission before they can contact a former employer.

I'm sorry you're going through this. FWIW, I was once fired with impunity, but found a new job that paid twice as much. It's not an ending, it's a new beginning.

5. In a right to work state being fired with cause eliminates
unemployment, I believe.

If they want you gone, they are going to have to do it themselves.

Also you can collect unemployment if you are fired. If you quit, you cannot.

make management work to get rid of you. But either way, start looking for new employment.
