Help! Somebody posted a thread yesterday about Rx drugs...
They asked "How many drugs (Rx) are you on?"
I wanted to add mine:
1. Lithium 2. wellbutrin 3.buspar 4.celexa 5. glucophage 6. restoril 7. allegra when I need it. Yes that's a lot: oh 8. atenelol.
I think I should just be on Lithium but my doc does that oh I know best thing...
Anyways, where's the thread? wanted to read other people's replies.
Ciao-

1. Ummmm
That's an interesting list. I can understand the lithium for bipolar, but BOTH Wellbutrin AND Buspar? The celexa also is a bit much on top of all of that.

If you need to check out prescription medicines and their side-effects, the best place online is http://www.rxlist.com. I think that several of those medicines might be counterproductive. In most people, I would say that the majority of them would be suffering from being close to a zombie with all of that.

I don't know where the original thread is, however.

If you don't believe you should be taking medications other than lithium you should tell your doctor, very specifically, why not. S/he should give you an explanation as to why the additional medications are necessary. You should not accept an answer of "I know best". If the doctor refuses to discuss the matter or gets rude you might consider shopping for a new doctor. Someone who refuses to properly discuss treatment options with patients is of questionable value to his/her patients.
