Poll: Most Americans Don't Trust Weather Forcasts
<snip>

WASHINGTON -- Ever had a meteorologist assure you a day would be sunny -- only to walk outside for a picnic or a round of golf and find it raining?

A poll shows most people don't have much faith that forecasters can accurately predict what the weather will be like on any given day.

Four in 10 respondents in an AP-Ipsos poll said they've made plans in the past month based on a forecast that turned out to be wrong.

But despite the problems, most said they still tune in to radio and TV forecasts -- but compare that prediction with what they see out the window.

About one-third of respondents said their local forecasts are usually accurate.

A West Virginia woman said there's no point in being annoyed when forecasts are wrong -- since nobody can be right about everything all the time.

And there are still people who depend on other signals, like when aches and body stiffness point to upcoming bad weather.

3. What's funny is that guy still draws a pay check.
Not funny, haha, but funny, "if I screwed up this much on my job, they'd fire me".

an the horizontal rain. Yeah, Joe, the rain will hold off until the evening. My frizzy hair will never forgive you.

4. Damn librul media
I have observed that the local NBC outlet predicts the weather to be *worse* than it will be-- a fearmongering tactic in the "if it bleeds it leads" vein, I assume.

(I despise that station, and I can't fathom why Mrs. Squeech watches it for anything other than "Will and Grace.")
