day 5
had a really hard time getting to sleep last night but then slept very soundly. I feel good today, only plan to use the nicotine lozenge if i am remotely tempted. I'm off on a two day sales road trip- the real test of my resolve. I have always done most of my smoking in the car, on the road. Sigh. I think I'm in for a rough coupla days. But I will do this. NO MORE $ TO BIG TOBACCO!! No more smelly car, clothes, hair. No more smoker's cough. Wish me luck!

1. Good luck. Just keep reminding yourself that you have the worst
behind you. Day One was worst than Day Two. Day Two was worse than Day Three, and on and on and on. Each new day has the "worser" behind you.

This is hard but you can do it. Should you need a series of books on how to stop smoking send me a private email with you address. Be glad to send you a set of five books ("booklets, actually) that I published a few years ago for the U. S. Government to teach in their post hospital to help people quit smoking. The data is a tad dated but it does have some really good ideas for coping. No magic cures but the program was very successful. (Just a note - I didn't write the materials, I just designed the layout and published for the gurus at Fort Knox Ireland Army Hospital - we then spread the program throughout Army Post hospitals.) I've got a limited number of copies available - offer open to any DU until I run out. No cost, just need an address.

Hang in there before you know it you will be one of those people who will hate the smell of cigarettes and wonder how on earth a person can smoke. There is nothing as militant as a "recovering" smoker.
