1. I hear it's awesome.
All the reviews say it's "dark" and "psychological". Batman purists allegedly love it.

That's enough for me to jump to the movie theatre ASAP!

With or without the s.o., who has actually expressed a vague interest in finding out if they got it right this time.

All the reviews so far have been enthusiastic.

7. Even the few bad reviews I've seen make me want to see it
They mostly complain that the movie is too "dark", "serious" and/or "scary", and that the villains aren't flamboyant enough. I've been praying for all of that for close to twenty years!

I want to see Bewitched too. Was a fan of the 1960's TV series when I was a kid.

5. I know. It's killing me to be at work today.
I've been a Batman fan since I was a toddler, when I first laid eyes on my uncle's Corgi Batmobile from the TV series. It was love at first sight.

I hear that this is truly the movie we've always been waiting for.

8. Mark Hamill may play The Joker in sequel to Batman Begins
Apparently he's on the short list to play the villain.

No link, came across my text messaging service.

14. I hope they "redo" the Joker's origins...
Much more along the lines of the graphic novel "Killing Joke".

I know, I'm a Batgeek.

17. Yeah, me too
Plus, they need to return the Joker to being a truly crazy, scary SOB, not the laughy/happy/funny/jokey guy played by Cesar Romero and Jack Nicholson.

The Joker, to my mind, is like that killer clown that scared the hell out of you as a kid--kind of like a living, breathing version of that clown doll in the movie "Poltergeist". He's so horrible, we REALLY want Batman to clean his clock and put him away. This is the way Bob Kane and Bill Finger created him, and that's the way he should be.

20. Oh yes...Joker's one dark evil muthah....
He's been played for laughs for far too long.

Look at Batman: he's a nutcase. Really. He's not played for laughs. I want a Joker that won't end up on a Burger King cup, he's so damn nasty. He killed a Boy Scout troop with cotton candy, fer crissakes.

22. Really?
That would be VERY interesting casting.

I must be one of the few people who REALLY hated Nicholson's take on the Joker.

I'm going to see Batman Begins later this afternoon.

Joker needs to be dark and evil, not played for laughs.

Read the graphic novels?

27. I hated Nicholson, too
In my opinion, his Joker really ruined what could have been a great movie, since I thought Michael Keaton did a wonderful job. When it comes to the showdown between Batman and the Joker, you really need to be rooting for Batman, not for the funny/clever/cool/jokey villain.

I loved Frank Miller's take on the Joker in "The Dark Knight Returns", echoed by Alan Moore (I think; correct me if I'm wrong) in "The Killing Joke". The Joker is SUPPOSED to be a sick, twisted, frightening bad guy who commits crimes of such repulsive horror that we can't WAIT for Batman to kick his a$$.

10. Saw the midnight premiere last night
Needless to say MUCH MUCH better than the last movies, even Tim Burton's Batman. Christian Bale did a great performance as Bruce Wayne & The Dark Knight. He emotes well through the costume and has the presence of an anti-hero vigilante. You don't see too much of him as Batman. As expected there's a lot of back story & development, hence the "begins" title. Also the end of the movie gives a clue to who the next villain will be.

Great! Katie Holmes was actually one of the weak links IMO
but the action is great and the backstory to how Bruce
Wayne became Batman gives it heart.
