There is a spider lost in the mess on my desk.
He keeps jumping out at me and I am afraid to move anything lest I either crush him or he crawls across me.

1. Here's what I would do:
burn the desk, contents and all. That way

1) you won't crush the spider
2) he'll never crawl across you
3) you'll start a fire.

Everybody wins.

5. Whatever you do, don't kill the spider
It's bad luck!

Go ahead and torch the desk though. He'll jump off and go somewhere safe, and you'll be all toasty. :D

8. Update on the arachnid
Felt a tickle on my ankle.. he ran down my sock... i scooped him onto a binder of pokemon and yu*gi*oh cards.. then flipped him out on the deck.

Unles, of course, that was entirely different spider. Looked a bit smaller than I recalled the one up here onthe top of the desk. But maybe he was just scared and scrunching his legs together?

12. I am actually rather afraid of them, but this guy was a small wolfie.. I
can deal with them slightly better than the big bulbous-butt web-spinners.. as long as they are nickel sized or smaller.

after that they all make me scream.

13. Funny! I wonder how common
it is among us arachniphobes to be able to cope up to a certain size.
I'm cool (or at least reasonably calm) up to the size of a nickel. Larger than that, I tend to lose it.

9. That's okay.
There's a DESK lost in the mess on my desk.

What you need to do is treat your desk like a big game of pick-up sticks. Move one thing at a time, top item first, until you come to the spider.

16. This frightening gal was living in my neighbors back yard
until the renovators cleared the jungle away.

The Spider

The Jungle

The entire backyard looked like this.

Now it looks like this:

Except the house is a little further along...

But I'm getting off topic here.
