I may have found my calling...(but I need a little help)
Edited on Wed Jun-15-05 01:27 PM by Guy Fawkes
I've been a gamer for as long as I can remember. But no game changed my life the way The Sims has. When I first got it, I found out how much fun designing rooms was- I spent almost all of the time I was playing the game just designing rooms. Interior design just... called to me. It spoke to me in a way that no other art form ever has.

So I want to find someplace to go and get a knowledge base, but I don't know where. I found IADT Chicago (international academy of design and technology) -there is also IADT Toronto-, and another in Italy (out of the question). Any suggestions?

1. Get a real design program while you are shopping for schools.. and
watch lots of TLC, HGTV, and DIY. (Me I watch more for the landscpaing shows, but I like a nice room makeover as well.)

6. Well, there are several house design packages that
will let you design the structure of the house, furnish it, and design the grounds.

These are the programs I have looked over.. but I have never tried any so have no further input on them, I'm afraid.

3. When I played SIMS I couldn't get them to get out of bed in the morning!
With all the popularity of the Home Improvement channel, I'd think it would be a great time to consider a career in decorating! Good Luck to you:hi:

7. Intern with the Queer Eye guys.
Just kidding. :D

Seriously, though, check into design schools, see what you can find on the Internets. You might want to consider looking into local community colleges and checking out their art curricula. That's what popped into my mind, see where that leads you. Good luck!
