Just had some quite gorgeous calves liver with mashed potatoe (extra letter in honour of Dan Quayle's exploits on this very day) and swede. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

19. I don't like fish either, but I like tuna salad (not tuna by itself)
and fish sticks. But any other fish, unless it it shellfish, is Yuck!! I would pick the steak too, but it depends on how much work I feel like doing when I get home!

What exactly is a pot roast?

The term isn't used over here (at least not in my experience). Roasting and putting into a pot seem to be leading in opposite directions. :dunce:

16. Tonight for dinner, I'm planning to cook one of my favorites:
My husband named it lamb pazookan. I make it from left-over leg of lamb, and chopped up baked potatoes, chopped onions, and chopped up zuccini. I cook the onions first, and then add the rest. The lamb, as it is already roasted, goes in last. Some dill weed, some freshly ground peppercorns, and voila! All in one huge pan and delicious to boot! I thought it up...many years ago.

29. Hmmm, manage? I'm not sure what you mean...
I cook the onions over low heat in some pretend butter, saute if you will...And then I add the other ingredients and continue cooking (a kind of stir fry, I guess) until it's all done.

It does look good when finished! Alas, no pics to share with you!

21. Haggis
If I can stomach it...
Traditional Haggis (from Evelyn Hlabse)

1 sheep's pluck (stomach bag)
2 lb.. dry oatmeal
1 lb. suet
1 lb. lamb's liver
2 1/2 cups stock
1 large chopped onion
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper, Jamaica pepper and salt

Boil liver and parboil the onion, then mince them together. Lightly brown the oatmeal. Mix all ingredients together. Fill the sheep's pluck with the mixture
pressing it down to remove all the air, and sew up securely. Prick the haggis in several places so that it does not burst. Place haggis in boiling water and boil
slowly for 4-5 hours. Serves approximately 12.

though I should be able to purchase a sheep's stomach and liver as there is a "sheep processing plant" near here.
I'm fond of Scottish celebratory victuals and spirits since my son was most likely conceived after my husband and I attended a Robert Burn's birthday party here in Northern California in 1994.;)
