New Pennsyorkania and the State of New York City and Long Connectisland
Let's give the rest of New York State to Pennsylvania, make New York City the new New York State, and give Long Island to Connecticut, except for Brooklyn and Queens, of course.

2. I always regarded NY as two states
1. NYC + "The Island", Westchester, and Rockland Counties.
2. "Everything Else."

My wife is from Queens, and we lived in Broome County. Broome County ain't "The City" - more like Scranton-Wilkes Barre. Actually, NY west of I-84 and west of the Catskills is more like Central Pennsylvania then like NYC --- they even close the schools for the first day of deer season (just like in Pennsylvania).
