Do you guys want a SCARY story for Halloween?
Takes place at River Park on the NW side of Chicago late 70's.

When I was in 6'th grade my Mom use to let me go to the park in the evening with my Sister after dark. (No gangs back then)

One evening my Sister and my fiend Linda and I went to the park around 8:30 pm after dark. All three of us were swinging real high on the swings when we looked over toward a bench that was right next to the Chicago River.

The bench had a street light over it and we saw a man with a old timy suit on walking up the side of the hill by the Chicago River and he sat down on the bench. He had a boiler hat on and he started reading a newspaper. We kept swinging for a little while and the man kept turning the pages of his newspaper.
He looked kind of odd because his suit didn't look right so us girls started talking as we were swinging.
My Sister who is older stopped swinging and headed over toward the man to get a closer look.
Something wasn't right because he looked gray and you could kinda see through him.
My Sister went running past Linda and I as we were swinging real high and told us to jump off it's a ghost.
Yeah, we could jump off alright when we were that high up in the air.

We put our feet down and our flip flops almost burnt off of our feet because we had to stop ourselves from swinging.

Linda didn't believe in ghosts and she said that my Sister was lying. But my Sister was almost out of the park because she was running so fast so I took off after my Sister because I believed her. It was a creepy feeling that I had that she was right.
The man had a suit on with a boiler hat and he kind of looked like he steeped out of the era with swing dancing.

Linda went right up to the bench and the man kept reading his paper and didn't even notice her. She took off running and she past me up and said get the hell out of here you can see through that man and it's a ghost.

I couldn't run because I had problems with my legs and here I was left in the GD park alone with the man on the bench reading his newspaper. I felt like I needed to look back and suddenly he wasn't at the bench anymore and he was at the drinking fountain which was a few feet away.

I peed on myself because I was so afraid of what was going to happen to me and the two Bitches were long gone by now.

The man was gray and I mean he was gray and you could see right through him. His feet were not on the ground and he came up over the river bank that was by the Chicago River. There was a fence by the riverbank so that kids wouldn't fall in and he must have walked right through it because it was a new fence.

I will never forget the gray man in the park.

Al Capone use to put cement shoes on people and through them in the Chicago River and maybe that's the way this man had died.

BTW I told my Mom that my Sister left me in the park and my sister got a spanking when my Dad got home and she was too old for a spanking.

2. We lived in a 300 year old house in England
I have to keep asking my Sister If things really happened in that house or was it my imagination because I was a kid at the time.

Sits out by the river and reads a paper, I mean. Maybe you had an encounter with the famous attorney.

4. Northwest Side of Chicago
He sits out by the Museum of Science and Industry.

The park district had just put up this little park next to river park and it was new.

Pretty far from the South Side of Chicago.
