Kid Rock Sued Over Strip Club Assault

NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Singer Kid Rock is being sued by a Tennessee disc jockey who claims Rock punched him in a face last winter at a Nashville strip club.

Jerry Campos is seeking $75,000 in compensatory damages and a half million in punitive damages.

Campos claims the 34-year-old singer hit him during a 3 a.m. fracas at Christie's Cabaret last February.

Rock pleaded no contest this week to a charge of criminal assault and was given a suspended sentence of just under a year in jail. He also was ordered to take anger management classes and buy Campos new glasses.

Born Bob Ritchie, Kid Rock was working as a club DJ in Michigan when he scored the 1998 hit, "Devil Without a Cause."
