she leaves the bar with the three guys and they head to a secluded spot on the beach. She's drinking and fooling around with the dutch boy but the others want in on the action. They slip something into her drink but the dutch boy drinks some of it as well. They talk her into going for a swim with them, but as she's walking toward the sea, she slips and falls to the ground, appearing to have passed out. The men take advantage of her.

They decide to leave her there. The dutch boy passes out in the car. What they don't know is that when the girl fell, she hit her head on an abandoned anchor. The dutch boy remembers "something bad happened to the girl" but since he passed out, he can't recall what he saw.

The next day, poachers of the highly endangered Aruba Island rattlesnake, discover one of the largest serpents ever known to exist. The men split open the snake and find a pair of earrings and a toe ring. (The neurotoxic component of the snake's venom allowed the body of the girl to be completely digested.)

One of the men, who works as a security guard at a nearby hotel, gives the earrings and the toe ring to his girlfriend. Marg Helgenberger spots the woman in a cafe where she's having lunch and immediately recognizes the earrings from pictures provided by the girl's family.

It's interesting how Americans think. I think it is another case of "America is always the smartest". A lot of Americans jump to the conclusion that these men were picked up because of race, but yet that is the way we think. We are still more racist than most of the countries out there. Renfro, a white American who has lived in Aruba for 15 years and is the mother of biracial children, said racial profiling does not have the same foothold on the island nation that it does in the United States.

"Aruba's colorblind," she said of the nation heavily dependent on the tourism industry.

"Interracial ... is not a word we would use here," she continued. "It doesn't exist. Most of the marriages are mixed. All of the children are mixed. Nobody can say I'm black, I'm white."

She insisted the reasons behind the guards' arrest had nothing to do with race.
